Mission Facilitators International (MFI) blasts teams into outer space using
the high tech simulator at a number of Challenger Learning Centers nationwide,
and returns them to Earth with improved teamwork skills and increased clarity
and commitment to their workplace missions.
Flying into outer space teaches teamwork because it requires teamwork.
Between trips to the simulator, participants debrief, and apply lessons learned
to the real world. In MFI-guided sessions they use the experience to clarify and
recommit to their own workplace mission, relationships and plans.
Each of your staff members will serve on one of eight teams critical to the
success of the mission. Everyone will have the opportunity to work in both
Mission Control and the spacecraft.
The teams are:

Navigation: |
Uses astronomy and navigation skills to maneuver the spacecraft out of
Earth's orbit and to its target. |

Medical: |
Performs tests relating to the crew's health and their reaction to the
Stress of the mission. |

Probe: |
Assembles and deploys a scientific probe to gather data for the
mission. |

Data: |
Transmits important information via computer between Mission Control and
the spacecraft. |

Remote: |
Works is a glovebox and uses remote
robots to perform mission-related tasks. |
|
| |
Isolation: |
Uses robots to perform mission-related experiments. |
|
| |
Life Support: |
Monitors and maintains the spacecraft's oxygen, water and environmental
conditions. |
|
| |
Communication: |
Maintains voice link between the spacecraft and Mission
Control. |
